I can't think of a title...

I made it over to check on my Roany Pony tonight.  She was taking a nap when I got there.  It never fails to amaze me how much horses look like beached whales when the lay down.  At first she was still kind of sitting up but then she stretched out flat.  I didn't have the heart to get her up.  I was out of the house and there were no children there so really I didn't much care what happened.  It was relaxing just watching her sleep.  After a bit she got up, shavings all in her forelock and mane, so cute.  I just brushed her, checked her legs and picked out her feet.  We are going to visit the in-laws so I just wanted some barn time before we headed out.  I tried to get a couple of pictures but my camera battery was beyond dead.  Her legs are healing nicely and I can see new pink skin underneath some of the scabs that are starting to come off.  She did cough a few times, so I need to keep an eye on that.  I have never noticed her coughing before.

Well, everyone have a great rest of the week!

Sometimes horses cough after they get up from lying down or rolling, maybe that is why she coughed? My sister's mares do that, and My Boy does sometimes, too.
I get afraid of the beached whale look, too! Sometimes I worry for a second until I see a sign of movement, LOL!

I hope Rosie is going to heal up fast. I have to question having two stallions pastured within eyesight of each other. This would make them competitive no matter how well trained they are otherwise. Can you get around without passing these 2?

Rosie seems to be healing well, there is new pink skin and the scabs are starting to shed off. I'm not crazy about the stallion situation either. I am currently investigating a new route from the pasture but I need to see if a gate opens up to where I hope it does. If it doesn't the barn manager has offered to get Rosie for me from the pasture. I'm not crazy about that either but it is better than nothing I guess.
